Dear Energy Lady,
Is there any way to use energy to get the same or better results in half the time?
Signed,
Speedy
Dear Speedy,
Of course. Try this|
1) Decide your purpose. What outcome do you want to create? Begin with the end in mind. Picture it clearly. Close your eyes and get a sense of what this new state of being feels like. Know intellectually, emotionally and vibration ally what you are going for.
2) Once you are clear, ask yourself, "how can I achieve this is in _____minutes (or hours, days, etc.)?" If you don't believe that is possible, you will sense resisting thoughts and feel it somewhere in your body. Don't fight it or try to talk yourself out of it. Just sit with the resistant feeling, realizing it's just old, trapped energy. If you don't fight with it or hold on to it, it will lessen in power and likely disappear, or certainly weaken.
3) Close your eyes and see a clock or calendar that has the time or date you want on it. Mentally stamp it with "Done!" Smile at your creation and bless it by saying, "this is good."
4) Add, "I welcome and accept all resources in this dimension and any other that will help me achieve this outcome in the time I have specified."
5). Your creation is now complete. Relax.
6). Start working. Only do those things that contribute to the outcome you want. Stop doing everything else. No exceptions.
Enjoy the work! If you hate it, you slow the flow of energy. If you cannot enjoy it, then just accept it. The highest state of energy flow is enthusiasm, so if you can really get into the joy of creating in the world this way, you'll see even faster results.
Happy endings!
Love,
EL

Energy vampires
Dear Energy Lady,
I have a couple of co-workers who are really negative. I come to work with a positive attitude, but after about 10 minutes with these people, I feel like all the energy has just been sucked out of me. I don't want to be rude, but I can't be near these people. Any suggestions?
Signed,
Vampire-weary
Dear Weary,
What you're describing isn't unusual. Humans have about 50,000 thoughts a day, and 40,000 of these are framed negatively. Every negative thought generates emotion, which affects our energy field. Some people have very intense emotions, even if they don't demonstrate those with bad behavior. You can feel their vibes as they come down the hall--they can be that strong.
So yes, there are things you can and perhaps should do. Try this:
--Pause before you walk in the door of your workplace, and set an intention. Say or think something like, "I am safe, happy and protected at work." Imagine a bubble of pink light covering you from head to toe. Nothing can penetrate this bubble without your permission.
--If someone is yelling at you or otherwise saying negative things that are meant to stimulate a negative response from you, mentally project a mirror that faces out, towards them. Whatever they are saying will bounce off that and be reflected back to them. You might be surprised at how quickly this stops a negative attack.
--If you forget to do these things, try simply staying present to the other person's negativity without taking it personally. You can respond to whatever they're saying with things like, "it seems as if you're really bothered by that" or "Sorry to hear that you feel that way." In other words, acknowledge them and their negativity, but don't take it on.
--And if you're feeling particularly good, you can stay within your pink bubble and radiate out light and love to everyone in your office; to your clients, and to the world. Become a source of love, peace and joy. Don't judge anyone; realize that everyone is just doing the best they can with the beliefs they have. Love them as they are.
Love,
EL

Help me sleep!
Dear Energy Lady,
What's the right kind of energy to get a good night's sleep? And how do you get it?
Signed,
Tired All the Time
Dear Tired,
The challenge for busy people is that our minds are often full when it's time for bed. And since our thoughts generate emotions, which is really energy in motion, it's a problem. The more we think, the more we feel. The more we feel, the more vivid our energy becomes. As author Carolyn Myss says, our biography is our biology, so the more we stay engaged with our personal story as we try to fall asleep, the more our physical body responds. And unfortunately, most of those responses do not lead to sweet, restful sleep.
If your mind is truly active when you lay down, you can try running through everything for which you are/were grateful during the day. That will help raise your vibration if it is low. Or you can try imagining that you have a helper in your brain that is sweeping out the corners and "turning off the lights." Once the "room" is empty, it's time to sleep.
If your personal story still won't quit, try telling yourself, "I am No-Body. I am No-Thing." Or you can try, "I am Every-Body. I am Every-Thing." This is simply an acknowledgement of the truth that you are Source energy in form, as is everyone and everything else. This little mantra helps you disconnect from a lot of the emotions associated with a human story, and can make it easier to release, relax and sleep.
Another energy technique comes from author Eckhart Tolle, who suggests turning all of your attention to the energy field in your feet, and then slowly bringing your attention up your legs, into your torso, across your arms and then into your neck, face and head. Because it is impossible to think two thoughts at once, as long as your attention is on your energy field, it is not on your thoughts. As those get starved for energy because of the lack of attention, they fade, and it's easier to fall and stay asleep.
Finally, you can simply say, "Everything is all right," over and over and over. This affirms the truth that we cannot get life "wrong," and that there is great love in this dimension to support us.
Sweet dreams!
Love,
EL

Welcoming wealth
Dear Energy Lady,
I have taken about a dozen courses on how to attract wealth, but nothing works. Got any good ideas?
Signed,
Waiting for My Ferrari
Dear Ferrari,
The problem with the "Law of Attraction" is that it makes it sound like everything in the universe is already created, and you're supposed to "magnetize" it to you. But it doesn't really work like that. The universe is not some kind of cosmic candy machine that dispenses goodies if you say the right affirmations.
Instead, it works on the principle that you can create whatever you want. That's the start. Instead of thinking like an object like a car, however, start thinking about creating a state of mind and being in yourself. In other words, you don't want to think ABOUT wealth, as that still keeps you separate from it.
But you also don't want to try to force yourself into a state of being wealthy, since if you're not that now, you're setting up a condition where you are actually creating mixed signals in your own body.
Here's the thing: our natural state is one of wealth, health and happiness. So rather than try to attract wealth, just relax. If you knew you were already wealthy, you wouldn't feel anxious, would you? Imagine that the universe is trying to give you more money than you could ever imagine. If your fists are closed, you cannot receive it.
So you've already created it with all your programs and study. It exists. You don't need to "attract" it. Instead, see where you may be rebuffing it or shutting yourself off from it. For instance, if someone wants to give you money, do you say thanks or think that it's not enough? Do you avoid paying your bills?
Allow money to be in your life, and welcome it in whatever form it comes. Take care of whatever money you have. Wealthy people use their money wisely.
Wealth is a state of being before it's a state of bank account.
Enjoy!
Love,
EL

A Perfect Week
Dear Energy Lady,
I have always wondered what it would be like to have a perfect week. How can you stay in the flow 100% of the time? Is this even possible?
Signed,
Life is Easy?
Dear Easy,
To answer your questions, I have to ask you a few:
--What's your definition of "perfect"?
--Why/when do you think you're out of the "flow"?
--What is it that you really want to experience?
Let's just say, for instance, that your definition of "perfect" is "no problems." So you're asking, "how can I have a week without any problems?" It does sound tempting, doesn't it? But did you ever see the movie "Pleasantville"? In that movie, there was a little town where nothing ever went wrong. It was always pleasant...and boring. We use the contrast of things going wrong to set them right, which helps us experience ourselves in satisfying ways.
But let's say that you'd like every deal to go through, every phone call to be answered and every encounter you have be satisfying. For that to happen, the people involved in those situations with you would need to want the same thing, and when you're working with energy, you can't create in another person's experience.
Then there's the question of "flow." You're never out of the field of energy; you are it, it's in you and everything and everyone else. So there's no way you can be disconnected from it (which is why I write this blog--people don't seem to realize that, and use it in unintended ways).
So what can you do to have a "perfect" week?
Start with your intention. How would you like to feel? No one but you can determine your feelings and/or your attitude, so if you'd like it to be happy, then make it so. If something happens that you think is bad or that makes you feel unhappy, don't ignore the feeling--happily welcome it and the growth and understanding it can give you.
Then, to whatever degree is possible, stay awake and aware to what is right and good. Notice the good drivers on your way to work--you'll be amazed at how many there are! Notice when the elevator works, the door opens, the coffee is already brewed, the computer works and the people in your office do what they're supposed to be doing. Notice where in your body you DON'T hurt. Just start paying attention to what is working, and you'll start to create and attract more of it. You can also look for what is perfect, and you'll likely find that, too--a job well done, friends smiling, a good meal--the possibilities are endless.
Finally, bless and be thankful for all that is going well for you. Share your abundance of intelligence, love or caring with others. Bring goodness to the world and be open to what goodness is here for you.
All this may not create a perfect week, but it will certainly create an adventure in adding significantly to your happiness, which will raise your vibration and undoubtedly create more good things happening to and through you!
Love,
EL

What are the vibes of your relationship?
Dear Energy Lady,
I'm wildly in love with my boyfriend. The vibes between us are amazing! How can I keep it going forever?
Signed,
Good vibrations
Dear Vibes,
I'm so happy to hear that you and your boyfriend are going strong. I'm going to take a guess that your relationship is relatively new, and that you're paying a lot of attention to the things you like about one another right now. So yes-when you're putting intense attention on what you like and appreciate, it does feel amazing.
Can you keep that going forever? Perhaps. But to do that, you'll need to perceive and appreciate something new and wonderful about your boyfriend constantly. That may be possible, but it will be a challenge. To do it, you'll want him to change and grow, and to enjoy the process and results as much as he does.
Another way to increase the vibes between you is to keep releasing your attachment to him. Yes, you read that right-release your attachment. The more you let go, the more unconditional love and higher vibrations can enter, and the experience of oneness can emerge. So you move from excitement to bliss.
But no matter what you do, do not expect things to say the same as they are now. If you do, it's a guarantee that the vibrations will eventually fall, because all of life is in a process of constant change.
Love your boyfriend-and yourself-for the people you are becoming as we'll as for the spirits you are and have today.
Wishing you lots of love,
EL

The seven words that will change your life
Dear Energy Lady,
About six months ago, my biggest client suffered a setback, and my business hasn't been the same since. I've tried to be supportive and keep touching base with them, but nothing is happening. Is there any way I can help them energetically so we can start doing business again?
Signed,
In a sinkhole
Dear Sinkhole,
I was at a convention a few years ago where the keynote speaker gave us some advice: "There are seven words that will change your life," she said. "And here they are: When the horse is dead, get off."
I'm not saying that your client will never recover, but right now, that horse is dead, so get off. Every time you worry about them or contact them hoping to do business again, you're infusing them with more of the scared, negative energy of scarcity and frustration that they neither want nor need right now. So the very best thing you could do for them energetically is to back off until you are in a better place to help them.
It's never easy to lose a client, especially your biggest one. But "big" is only as big as you can currently perceive it. What if there were even a bigger, better client for you? Or what if there were a dozen smaller clients who would help you expand your skills and network? What if there were no new clients, which might push you in the direction of joining with an organization or different group of people? The possibilities are endless.
Try not to judge or reject anything right now. One of the best things you can do for your previous client or yourself right now is to simply let go. Release them with your blessings. At some point, you may start to feel that you have No-Thing left, which can actually be a good thing. For the vibration of No-Thing is where all possibilities are born. If you only stay with what you can imagine, you will only get a variation of what you have already experienced. But if you stay open, higher vibrations can arise within and around you, and that's when wonder-FULL things start to happen.
And if, in the meantime, you need a new source of income, go get one. Figure out what you need to do to pay your bills, and live within your means until things improve.
So remember: you're not in a sinkhole, you're in a swimming pool! Float your way back to the top.
Love,
EL

Who am I?
Dear Energy Lady,
I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a woman, a mother, a grandmother, a niece, an Aunt, a friend, a volunteer, a coworker, a direct report, a cook, a musician, a gardener, an artist, a citizen, an alumna, a voter, a Presbyterian, an athlete, a peace-maker and more. So my question is: what do all these identities make me energetically?
Signed,
Multiple Personalities
Dear Multiple:
The answer is simple: they make you, You.
In actuality, none of these things is you. They are just roles you have chosen, either consciously or spiritually. You will likely have and lose multiple roles in your lifetime, but none of them is you. They're just what you want to do or how you want to define yourself at the moment.
So in terms of how they impact you energetically, every single one of them limits your energy in some way. This is necessary because if it didn't, you'd never experience the contrast you need to continue creating and getting the most out of what the life experience has to offer.
Additionally, you will undoubtedly love some roles more than others, and some circumstances in those roles more than others. Some roles and situations make you feel peaceful and free; others make you feel resistant. How you are, not what you are, decides how your energy flows.
Just remember this: because you are none of these things and all of these things, they do not define you. You are actually No-Thing and No-Body because you are Source/God/Love in an individuated form. So regardless of your roles, do not identify too closely with them. If you do, something will likely happen that will challenge that belief.
Love,
EL

The joy of becoming No-Thing at work
Dear Energy Lady,
I am working my butt off at work, try to have a good attitude, and be a decent team player. I have made some really good gains for the company, but my manager can't stop putting me down. I don't get it. I'm doing everything right, but it seems like she sees me as a big zero. Any advice?
Signed,
Frustrated
Dear Frustrated,
Your situation is very interesting from an energy standpoint. There could be several different things going on. So let me ask you a couple of questions:
--Do you like your work? When I hear that someone is working their butt off, that can suggest that you feel your work is an effort. Those who truly love what they do say things like, "I like/love my job" or "I feel good about the work I do" or "I'm proud and satisfied with the results I'm getting." If you don't like your work, your manager may be the external reflection of some low level vibrations you may be stuffing down deep inside yourself.
--If you like your work, do you enjoy being a team player? Would you rather work independently? Again, you will always get a match to how you are, not what you believe should be true.
--What does the voice in your head say to you when you're at work? Is it constantly making you work harder? Do you feel like you're pushing a boulder uphill? All of those states of mind/heart/spirit are vibration-shrinkers.
--Do you somehow feel like a "big zero"? Where did that expression come from in your life? Are you secretly afraid of failure?
All of the above could keep you stuck in your present unpleasant circumstances. To break free, consider this:
Become No-Thing.
That's right. Become nothing. Really!
Here's why: people are terrified of becoming, being and having nothing. So we fight with all our might against it, and it's exhausting. Doing so lowers our vibration and makes it impossible to experience life as an act of creation and joy. So we make ourselves into somethings: sons, husbands and fathers; daughters, sisters and wives. We take on roles at work so we can say we "are" a Vice President or a champion tennis player or a financial advisor. But all of these are just roles that we have, and we can change them if we want. Sometimes life even changes them for us so we can realize we are not these things.
So if you are not your roles, then who are you? No-Thing. If you are no-thing, you are seeing yourself as you truly are: an individuation of Source energy, or God. In that state, you can be anything, and indeed, you can see that everything is God in some form.
Better yet, if you are No-Thing and can be Any-Thing, you can start to see the connection between you and every other person and thing you encounter. This includes your manager, which is why I asked if she is simply expressing a fear you have never voiced or some deep, dark doubt you hold about yourself (see my blog on "How's that working for you?" to get rid of those).
So relax. Take a deep breath before you walk into your office tomorrow. Announce to yourself: "I am No-Thing here, which means that I am and can be Anything and Everything!" Then see if you can start seeing the connection/reflection of how you are with what is happening to and around you.
It's a lot of fun when you start doing this. And fun raises your vibration. When your vibration raises, your boss's comments should stop or change dramatically. If they don't, they'll start to bounce off you like rubber.
Happy No-Thingness! :)

I am working my butt off at work, try to have a good attitude, and be a decent team player. I have made some really good gains for the company, but my manager can't stop putting me down. I don't get it. I'm doing everything right, but it seems like she sees me as a big zero. Any advice?
Signed,

Really!
