Dear Energy Lady,
Every time I read about energy, it says, "connect to the light." Exactly how do you do this? What is the source? Is there any way to stay connected?
Signed,
In the dark
Dear Dark,
I can answer this with a little story. After God finished creating the heavens and earth, the Almighty said, "I would like all humankind to seek me, so they will have the joy of our reconnection. Where shall I hide?"
The eagle said, "Fly with me to the top of the highest mountain. They will never be able to reach it."
And God said, "Eventually, they will."
The bear said "Hibernate with me in the heart of the cave. They will not find You there."
And God said, "Yes, they will. They will learn to travel deep into the earth."
The shark said, "Swim with me into the deepest sea. They will not come there."
And God said, "Yes, they will. They will learn how to go safely to the bottom of the deepest oceans."
It seemed there was no place that God could hide where man and woman could not find him. And then the sparrow spoke:
"Hide in their hearts. They'll never look for You there."
In other words, you don't need to worry about connecting to the light because you ARE light. And so is everyone and everything else. You can actually see this if you learn to see the energetic field that emanates from us. Check out Kirlian photography and you can see examples, or try this: look at top of someone's head, as if you were staring at 12 o'clock. Then look slightly to the right, to 1:00, and then immediately back to 12. You might start to see a glow around the top of the other person's head. That is part of their energy field.
But if you'd like to go past party tricks to experiencing more love, then ask yourself, "How can I express the love that I am?" You might be inspired to write a note of thanks or praise; whip up a fabulous meal and share it with those you love; sing in the rain; solve a complex problem, or something--anything!--else that feels good and right. That's love talking, using you as its instrument.
Our world has enough darkness. Let your light shine!
Love,
EL

Losing the energy of anger
Dear Energy Lady,
I have heard that harboring anger and resentment can cause your vibrations to sink. Is this true? If so, what are the consequences of it?
Signed,
Stuck in the mud
Dear Stuck,
Yes, it is true that anger and resentment can lower your vibrational field. Most people think that they are sending out the energy to others, hurting them rather than themselves, but that's not the way it works. Your emotions only impact you. No one else is harmed or helped by them, unless you take action on them, for better or worse.
When you're angry, you're actually only vibrating on a level of 150, according to Dr. David Hawkins, reporting on his extensive study of energy states in his book, "Power Versus Force." At that level, you're likely to create experiences that will feel antagonistic or aggressive, and either arouse hate in you or make you the object of hate.
In addition, as author Carolyn Myss points out, "your biography is your biology." So not only are you creating experiences you don't want, you're harming your biological health. Those studying mind/body medicine say that anger and resentment are associated with a host of diseases, including heart attacks and cancer.
So yes, anger keeps you stuck in, as you say, mud. Gooey, slimy, not fun mud. Not a pretty picture.
If you're angry, you're probably convinced that you're right about something. From your point of view, you are. But from the other person's point of view, they're right, too. Everyone operates from their own beliefs and values; what you're experiencing is nothing more than different worldviews. So try a little empathy. Put yourself in their shoes, and try to see the situation from their point of view, not your own. If you take yourself out of the picture, even for just a few minutes, it's like unplugging a lamp. Release the anger to take on a different point of view, and it will release you.
Once you feel more relaxed, check in with your own highest and best values. Think of things that feel good and right to you--like honesty, integrity, authenticity, love, happiness, peace, etc. Then ask yourself, "How would someone who values _________ (fill in the blank) see the situation now?"
Chances are good that you'll feel yourself getting lighter and freer as you do this. From that new vibrational standpoint, you can look at the former situation as a great teacher that showed you how to use your energy more productively. You may actually find yourself feeling thankful for it.
So don't be afraid of anger, and don't run away from it. It can carry you to greater heights if you embrace what it has to teach you.
Love,
EL

Building business results Fullistically
Dear Energy Lady,
Can you accelerate business results with energy? I need to make a deadline, and I could really use some help.
Signed,
Anxious
Dear Anxious,
You can do anything with energy. Actually, you are already doing everything with energy--you just don't realize it. That's why you're not getting the results you want. So what you want to do is be conscious about what you're doing.
Here's the funny thing about the vibrational field--it's designed to work in your favor. The reason why it doesn't so much of the time is because we block what it is trying to deliver to us. This is especially true when we're under stress, like when a deadline looms or a goal seems particularly daunting to us. Because we think there is a separation between what we want and need and what we have, there is. We create the very thing we don't want.
So what you want to do is speak the results into being, and then allow them to enter. When we speak out loud, the vibrations resonate through all layers of our consciousness. They also are launched into the field, and their sound has a character, tone and intensity that are matched by energy waves and particles that have similar properties, and ta da! Matter or an experience comes into being.
Speak about the end result and how it will benefit others, not just you. If you're trying to make a sales goal, think about how having those customers will impact the mission, vision and values of your organization, not just about having the commission for yourself. Think about the improved state that your services or products will provide these people, and how much happier, healthier or safer they'll be as a result of engaging with you. Think about the reputation of your organization, and how important satisfied customers are to it.
This is your creation in the world; the sales are just a means to that end. Never worry about the "how?" when you play with energy; simply focus on the good you are bringing into the world.
Once you get a picture of the beauty of your results, close your eyes and allow the feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction to fill your entire being. Ahhhh! You have brought something wonderful into being, and it is good. That should make you feel happy and peaceful.
Before you open your eyes, bless it by saying something like "And so it is" or simply, "Thank you." Then relax. The mistake most people make is that after they've created something on the field, they keep "pulling up the roots to see if the plant is growing," so-to-speak. Know--not believe or hope--but KNOW that your work is now done, and that evidence will be arriving shortly.
After that, speak only in the present tense about the delight you have in these new customers. Example: "I have ten new clients who have achieved breakthroughs in their yoga practice because of their participation in my class" "I have three new patients who are eager to improve their smiles with our services." "Our restaurant opened to great reviews, and we're solidly booked with reservations for the foreseeable future."
If doubt and/or fear creep in, detach from them. Observe the thought as well as the feeling. Let both simply move through you. Do not grab them or try to hold on to them in any way. If you do, you will delay or destroy what you've created.
Know that you real "effort" is effortless. This is the way the world is designed. If you want to take action, focus first on your consciousness, and then on things like calls, emails and marketing campaigns. Things will come together more easily than you ever imagined.
Love,
EL

Winning the lottery
Dear Energy Lady,
I didn't win the lottery last week, and I'm seriously bummed. I really wanted to shift my reality and start having more fun. Can you tell me how to use energy to win next time?
Signed,
Winner-in-waiting
Dear Waiting,
Winning the lottery takes one of two things: 1) an absolute knowing that the money is yours or 2) a complete innocence that allows for anything and everything to come through you into the world.
When you look at who wins the lottery, you often hear them say things like, "I have been playing for years, and always knew that I'd win someday. I had my safety deposit box ready and waiting; my attorney is ready to pick up the winnings for me; and I already have the trust fund designed and my financial advisor chosen to manage the wealth."
Alternately, you hear the winners say, "I'd been praying for this" or "I never, ever expected anything like this to happen--I just bought a ticket and forgot about it."
Either way, the energy is well managed for results. In the first instance, the expectation and knowing is so strong that the manifestation is guaranteed. In the latter, the sweet openness and wonder allows the energy of love and joy to naturally come through.
So if you want to win the lottery, either get ready or get relaxed. Really relaxed.
In the meantime, start finding your wealth in what you have already created in your life. Your riches are already here, and the more you enjoy them, the more you attract. Then remember to share the wealth, because once the energy starts flowing, you'll want to keep it going and growing.

EL

Hitting in the clutch
Dear Energy Lady,
Do energy laws apply to things like sports? My favorite baseball team is the Minnesota Twins, and my favorite player is Joe Mauer. Joe makes a lot of hits, but he never comes through "in the clutch," which means that when bases are loaded and he comes to bat, rather than make one of his usual doubles or homeruns, he strikes out. Otherwise, he's a really, really good player. Is there any energy explanation for this?
Signed,
TC fan
Dear Fan,
Energy applies to everything in the physical world, so yes, it also applies to sports. Because I live in the Twin Cities too, I also follow the Twins and Mauer's performance. So here's what might be happening:
--He could have a belief--conscious or unconscious--that he can't come through "in the clutch." Beliefs always have an impact on our performance because we think they are true. But they're just stories, and when we challenge them, they change or disappear.
--Although Joe is a great hitter and may hold that belief about himself, the opposing team pitcher may have an even stronger belief that he (the pitcher) can strike out anybody in the clutch, including Joe. The person with the strongest belief often "wins" energy contests.
--Joe may not align with the feeling and vibration of hitting a grand slam home run. He could watch a movie like "The Natural" --especially the scene where Robert Redford's character hits the grand slam and wins the World Series--and see if he feels any doubt, blockages or uncertainty anywhere in his energy field. If not, then he could simply practice having that feeling to the point where it becomes a "knowing," not a belief. In other words, it moves from his head to his gut instinct.
--Another thing he could do is take an affirmation like, "I hate striking out in the clutch" to "it's frustrating to strike out in the clutch" to "I hope I can get a hit in the clutch" to "I believe I can get a hit in the clutch" to "I would love to get a hit in the clutch" to "I know I can get a hit in the clutch" to "I can't wait to get in the clutch so I can get a big hit!" In other words, evolving a belief consciously often gets rid of the blockages.
--Another way to get the grand slam is to use the energy of love. Joe could be saying, "I love to hit the ball" "I love to get BIG hits!" "I love hitting home runs!" "I love making the fans cheer" "I love helping the team win our games, especially when we come from behind." If he doesn't want to say affirmations, he could just get into the feeling that these kinds of statements evoke--the result will be the same.
--He may not have any of these issues, and instead, simply be carrying some old energy from himself or others that he's not even conscious of. In this case, he'd need to have a skilled energy worker remove the blockage from his etheric and other fields.
--He could be caught up in an egregor--an energy field made up of the beliefs of many others. Remember that at any given Twins game, there are tens of thousands of fans. If the majority of them believe Joe can't come through in the clutch, that will weaken his energy field and could keep the ball away from his bat. The fans could help shift his performance by expecting the best.
--Finally, he may just need to release some old, stuck energy by letting it go. That isn't always easy when you're a public figure, but it can be done. Releasing alone would likely be enough to change everything for the better.
Here's wishing him a great season!
Love,

Connecting with others on the quantum field
Dear Energy Lady,
I live in a small town and know every single person here. There's no one who understands energy work, and I really want to talk about it. If I did it around here, everyone would think I'm totally weird. What I really want is to connect with someone who can prove to me that all this "creating on the field" stuff is real.
What do you suggest?
Signed,
Ready to bust out of here
Dear Bust Out,
Let me tell you a true story that I hope will inspire you. If it does, you can try it for yourself.
A friend of mine was visiting San Francisco. One night, she had a dream, and a name came to her very clearly. So clearly, in fact, that she felt compelled to look it up in the phonebook (this was a while ago) the next day. Sure enough, there was a one person--and only one person--by that name listed.
She had a tremendous urge to call the woman, but didn't know what to say. "Hi, you don't know me, but I had a dream about you last night and felt I ought to call you"? Seemed pretty strange to her. But the friend she was with encouraged her to do it, as the worst that could happen would be if the woman hung up on her.
So she did. And when she explained to the woman why she was calling, the woman said, "Oh! I put that intention out on the matrix last night. I was wondering who would call!"
And you can do the same. First, think of why you want to do this. If you're trying to not disbelieve in energy work, it probably won't work for you--the intention is too confused. But if you're doing it to have fun and make new connections, then it probably will.
You can do this several ways:
1) Create a little song about meeting someone on the higher vibrational fields. Sing it with joy!
2) You can do the same with dance. Design your movements so that you're putting energy out, and then taking it in.
3) Decide how you will feel when you connect to another this way. Then close your eyes and feel the feeling now. Express gratitude and thanks for it in advance of any other evidence; just gratitude for your ability to create and manifest this way.
4) Write a story about who you met on the matrix. Read it out loud. Put it next to your bed.
5) Set an intention to meet someone this way, and then meditate. Let go of every expectation, need and desire.
5) Design your own way to do this that feels authentic and right to you.
You may not get instant results, since you're new at this. So try it a few times. Eventually, someone unexpected will enter into your life--likely in an unexpected way.
Enjoy!
Love,
EL

Ease into your week Fullistically
Dear Readers,
Monday is a day many people dread--the start of a new work week. But it doesn't have to be that way. Here is a simple exercise you can do:
Set an intention this week to see love, joy and freedom in your work. These emotions are all associated with the higher vibrational levels, and as soon as you choose to pay attention to them, you make your work more fulfilling.
Start by stating, out loud, what you intend. Something like this:
"I intend to experience love, joy and freedom in my work this week." (Or whatever qualities feel good and right to you. You might say something like, "I intend to experience creativity, innovation and play"; or "I intend to experience progress, accelerated results and connection"; or, "I intend to experience understanding, communication and connection." You get the idea)
Then wake up! Pay attention to every email; every interruption; every meeting; every person you meet in the elevator or walking in to the building; every story you hear in the news. Inspect what you expect. Get out of your head and into your life. Look for what you intended, and you will start to see it everywhere.
Once you get comfortable that universal love--in the form you have named it--is everywhere, you'll realize that you've been stressed out about nothing in the past. So let all that go. That was then; this is now.
The only ground rule to this game is that you're not allowed to say "Yes, but..." to anything you witness or experience. No rationalizing. No doubting. No explanations.
If what you intended doesn't show up, it probably is because you're doubting the whole process. So at that point, just let go. Forget about it. Go back to your old way of doing things. You'll still likely get a few good thunks or experiences to change your mind.
The point is that work has been given a bad reputation. This of it this way. It could stand for
W ork
O pens
R eality
K nowledge
And what is "reality"? Not the strenuous nightmare you think it is. Reality is the truth--which is that life, at its core and essence, is all love. Open yourself to it--you'll likely have more than 40 hours of practice this week.
Have a great week!
Love,
EL

Love,
EL

Fulfillment
Dear Energy Lady,
I would like to know more about the Principle of fulfillment. How does it work?
Signed,
Creative Genius in Waiting
Dear Genius,
Every human being was born to create. Mostly, we think of this as creating things like a home, a good living, a marriage, a baby, an empire, and on and on.
Everything we creates starts with a desire or yearning. Sometimes that desire is so faint we don't even know we have it. But suddenly, for instance, we find ourselves seeing silver grey Audis everywhere, and we start thinking, "Hmmmm...I wonder what it would be like to drive one of those?" The next thing you know, you start seeing advertisements for them on TV, and then you drive past a dealership you never noticed before. Before long, you find yourself looking online for more information or going for a test drive.
And it all started from nothing. You didn't do anything; you weren't even conscious that you were interested in a new car. And you may not be. Instead, you may be interested in the way driving the car makes you think or feel. It may not be the object you want, but just the joy of raising your energy.
So fulfillment is allowing desire to reach you. Most people block out or internally debate thoughts of pleasure. Don't. If you remain open to higher vibrations, you will find that you have the desire to create and/or experience many wonderful things.
Fulfillment transforms waves of energy potential into particles. These particles are magnetic to others like them in character, tone and intensity. Eventually, clusters of particles become atoms and molecules, which then become matter. So by allowing yourself to entertain and play with thoughts that feel good to you, you actually are working the energy mechanism for their fulfillment.
The point? What you've been waiting for is actually just waiting for you to be open to it. So relax, open, and have fun!
Love,
EL

Where did this problem come from?
Dear Energy Lady,
Either I have really bad luck, bad karma, or I'm doing something wrong. I changed jobs about 3 years ago, and was really looking forward to it. I came in with a great attitude, lots of enthusiasm, and plenty of hope that things would work out well. But all I encountered were control freaks, negativity and put-downs. I feel stuck, dissatisfied and frustrated. How could this happen when I was so totally positive?
Signed,
Feeling Down
Dear Down,
In Fullistic practice, we don't talk about things like luck or karma. There's only what you do or don't create, or how you respond to what others do or don't create. All of life is energy evolving and under transformation, including you.
So several things may be happening here. You don't say what your old job was like or why you left it. Did you leave a negative situation, or did you go because you had grown out of the job and wanted a fresh challenge? If you left for negative reasons (as many people do), then it's possible that the beliefs that drove that decision are still with you, and what you're experiencing is an outpicturing of them. Look deeply at your thoughts, fears and beliefs, and you'll see if the energy is still with you.
If that doesn't appear to be the case, ask yourself if you're not the negative one. You say you came in with a great attitude, but what words are coming out of your mouth? Are your actions aligned with what the organization needs? Are you producing the results they want? It could be that you need more training, skill building, organizational or managerial support or something else to up your game. If you felt really, really good about your results, would that change your job experience?
If it still doesn't feel like you, then ask yourself: was I unhappy in my last job? Or the job before that? If I was, did I do any self-discovery to clear the beliefs that were making me unhappy? If you didn't, then likely, that energy is still with you, and you're experiencing the "same old thing" in the "brand new place." You can never get away from yourself, because everything IS yourself.
But if you did feel that you left your old job feeling good, cleared any old beliefs and stuck energy and that now you're doing your absolute best, then something else may be going on. You may have planted your energy in the wrong place. Just as some plants do better in shade and some in sun, you won't thrive in the shade if you need a lot of daylight. What kind of environment allows you to thrive? Does it exist where you are now?
Finally, step back and look at what you need emotionally, spiritually, materially and energetically. Evaluate yourself, the job and the people you're with. But don't just do it by thought. Go to your heart, and put the problem there. You can also try giving it to your higher guides while you sleep or meditate to get answers about what to do next.
Love,
EL

What isn't you?
Dear Energy Lady,
I keep trying to "get in the flow" with positive thinking. I'm really good at doing affirmations, but my life doesn't seem to change. What am I doing wrong?
Signed,
Frustrated
Dear Frustrated,
You may not be doing anything wrong; it's really a question of focusing on what else you may need to do right.
One reason why positive thinking and affirmations may not work as well as you want is because deep down, you believe they don't. Or even if you do believe in their power, you've got some old, stuck energy that is keeping you from moving forward.
If you don't really believe they work, stop doing them. There are other ways to raise your energy. Anything that makes you feel light, happy and at peace will have a positive effect.
If you do believe in their power, it may not be a matter of how positive you can be. Instead, it may be a question of how many of your negatives you need to clear. Without clearing the negative, it's like trying to move forward with an anchor tied to your leg. You might make a little progress, but it will be difficult and exhausting.
An easy way to explain how to do this is to consider what Michelangelo might say. He was once asked how he went about creating the magnificent statue of David. His answer was that he took a block of stone and took away everything that wasn't David.
So if you're trying to reveal your true, beautiful self, do the same thing. Just take away everything that isn't "you." You can start by thinking about how many of your beliefs do not feel good to you. Every one is a little bit of "stone" that is blocking the flow of energy to and through you. If you're doing a positive affirmation and feel any sort of "tug" inside, or even just a dullness--that may be your first clue that there is something to clear.
If it feels like a block, there are several ways you can clear it. Try asking yourself, "How's this working for me?" Or use the Emotional Freedom Technique to tap it away. You can also try meditating and observing it objectively, or using the Sedona Method or Byron Katie's "The Work" to release it.
If you still feel stuck and aren't making progress, you may want to seek out an energy worker who has experience with energy bodies and/or past lives. It's possible that the blockage is something you brought into this lifetime or picked up somewhere without realizing it. You may not be conscious of what it is or how it is energetically patterned.
In any case, keep doing the positive thinking and affirmations if you like and enjoy them. They do carry good energy and will raise your vibration. If you add in clearing of blockages, you'll likely find that the affirmations work better than you ever dreamed they could.
Love,
EL

Getting a raise and a proposal
Dear Energy Lady,
I've been studying the Law of Attraction and Energetics because I want to change my life. Can you tell me how to use it to make my boss give me a raise and my boyfriend ask me to marry him?
Signed,
Ready!
Dear Ready,
It's great that you're excited about making changes in your life; it means that you're ready to grow (and glow!) But here's the deal: Energetics isn't about controlling--or even trying to control--others.
There are two reasons why.
#1: Your use of energetics should be loving and intentional. There is an ethical component to energy work. While medical practitioners promise to "do no harm," energetic practitioners need to "do some good." Trying to control others isn't about doing what is necessarily good for them, even if you think so or that it would be good for you. In addition, everyone has free will, so even if you try to intervene in their lives, if your attention or intention is unwanted, their energy will block yours. So don't waste your time or effort.
#2: Everything in your world is a reflection of some kind of the energy flowing through you. So when you think someone or something ought to change, you're really just describing something in yourself that needs to shift.
You may think that's silly if, for instance, you want your boyfriend to stop smoking and you don't smoke. So how can you stop doing what you're already not doing? Well, the point is that you are doing it. Every time you think of him lighting up, you're "smoking" inside with anger or frustration that your attempts to make him quit aren't working.
The point is: use energy work to change yourself. Remove your own blocks to happiness. Challenge your limiting beliefs. Change the way you see the world--use eyes of love and compassion. Change your attitude. Change your bad habits. Change your identity--go from thinking of yourself as your labels and roles to recognizing that you are an extension of Source energy.
As you change yourself, you will undoubtedly see things change around you because your vibration will rise. It's just like taking your hand off a cork that you've been holding under water. As soon as you release it, it will bob to the surface. So the more you relax, let go and open, the more you will be in the flow of life as it truly is. You don't need to force it; it will unfold naturally.
So if you want a raise, raise your vibration first. If you want someone to propose to you, make a commitment to yourself first...and keep it. Be as you truly want to be and feel, and the rest will take care of itself.
Enjoy the change!
Love,
EL

Wake up with a smile
Dear Readers,
Want to have some fun tomorrow? Smile before you get out of bed. Really. Stay between those sheets until you have a big, toothy grin on your face. It will change everything for you.
It is biologically impossible to feel bad when you're smiling. Go ahead. Try it. Smile and see if you can feel bad. You won't be able to do it.
Smiling at others makes them smile, too. So if you want to no only raise your own vibration, but that of others, give a smile to every person you see today. You'll not only be making the world a more beautiful place, you'll be making it happier and healthier.
The average American child smiles 400 times a day. The average American adult smiles less than 15. No wonder we're so cranky! Hard to say what the average is in other countries, but it's probably not much better. So see if you can smile 20 times a day or more; it will make you "above average'!
Smile when you're doing your email--it will clear any negativity from your messages. Smile when you answer the phone; the person on the other end will hear it in your voice. Smile when someone comes into your office. Smile before you walk in the door at night to greet your family. Smile as you drift off to sleep.
It won't be long before you feel a lot better, have a higher vibration, get known for being positive, and start to see the Law of Attraction work in your favor.
Enjoy!
Love,
EL
