Need a new job

Dear Energy Lady,
How do I find a job that isn't just paying the bills?  I want a job I can stay at, not just one that's keeps me working during the recession.

Signed,
Jack B.

Dear Jack,
You're not alone--many people would like this now.   The energy trick here is that thoughts lead to beliefs, and beliefs can cause serious energy blockages to what we want, depending on how sad, negative or resistant they are.

In your case, you have two beliefs that may be working against you.  The first is that it's difficult to find a full-time job during the recession.  The second is that the jobs you have now only allow you to pay the bills.  You might argue, "Both are true!"  which only means that you believe them.  Change your belief; change your life.  For instance, even though there's a recession, millions of people are working full-time jobs, and tens of thousands of these jobs were obtained in the last two years.  What do you think they believed in order to be in those situations?

Second, the bills you're paying are giving you things you want.  For now, let's assume that you're referring to things like utilities, rent and car payments.  You must like having a roof over your head, running water and a private vehicle, or you wouldn't be making those payments.  So all you have to do is expand your list of what you'd enjoy having, using or experiencing.  Daydream.  The more vividly and playfully, the better.

So, as The Energy Lady likes to say, "How's that belief working for you?"  If it doesn't, change it.  Go from "it's hard to find a job during the recession" to "all kinds of people are finding good jobs right now, so I can, too."

If that's too hard a stretch, just imagine yourself in a new job.  Either mentally or actually get in the car and "commute" to where you'd like to work.  When you get there, walk around and get used to the surroundings.  Start to get comfortable with how you feel in the new space.  Use your computer or a dayplanner book to map out a day in your new work life, or better yet--a full week or month.  Get on Linked in and connect with the people who might be your colleagues or industry pals.   As author Wayne Dyer says, "Believe it, and you'll see it!"

In other words, use your thoughts and actions not only to change your belief about your situation, but also to raise your vibration so you can become a match to something new and better.  Then remember: nothing new can come into your life until you vibrationally let go of what you don't want.  So allow yourself to do your current jobs with the enthusiastic and anticipatory spirit that they're preparing you for the job you're soon going to have.

As always, have fun!  And live FullisticallyTM

Love,
The Energy Lady
